General Tournament and Contest Rules

Tournament Standards

Members can create their own tournaments. Simply post a topic in the tournament forum and list your prizes and any rules you want.
Each tourney will have it's own rules and restrictions in addition to these standards. Some may even override these so be sure to read tourney rules before joining.
Tournament battles will take place on a tier system. Each round, a number of participants are eliminated. The winners of those battles progress to the next round along with any members that receive a by.
If one member in a battle pairing fails to come online for their battle within 3 days of the start of the next round, the other will receive a by to the next round. If neither party comes online, both are eliminated. If both parties come online but fail to battle, an extension may be granted. However, if after said extension, they have both been online and still failed to battle, both will be eliminated. It's up to the participants to coordinate their own battles. That's what the PM system is for.
Only official Dark Lair tournaments may give out Dark Coins as prizes. Official tournaments will be started by either a mod or an admin and be stated as official in the title. Anyone else trying to pass of a fake 'official' tourney will be barred from participating in the arena and receive a fine.

Any member can post a contest. You'll simply have to recruit a judge beforehand, then post with your prizes and any rules or restrictions.
Each contest will have its own rules in addition to these forum standards. Please be sure to read them thoroughly before asking to join
No outrageous pokemon. This means all stats, move sets, etc. must be within legal limits.
No hold items unless its allowed by the individual contest rules.
If you are caught attempting to use an outrageous pokemon for a contest, you will be fined and barred from the arena.
You should be original. Try not to use a pokemon that another member is using for the same contest.
