General Dark Coin Information

Dark Coins (DC) are the currency of Lair of Darkness Forums (LoD). They can be used to buy things in shops, pay members for favors, and a multitude of other things. Just like real world money. However, they do NOT have any monetary value outside of LoD.

So you ask, "How can I earn these Dark Coins?"... The answer is any number of ways...
I've listed here some of the most common methods.

• Refer a new member [must tell an admin] (+100 coins)
  
• Make a new non spam topic (+10 coins)
  
• Reply to a non spam topic (+5 coins)
  
• Make a spam topic (+2 coins)
  
• Reply to a spam topic (+1 coin)
  
• Post on someone's profile (+5 coins)
  
• Befriend someone (+10 coins)
  
• Earn a badge (+25 coins)
  
• Earn an E4 symbol (+50 coins)
  
• Earn a strategy mark (+30 coins)
  
• Win an official tournament (+? coins)
  
• Win an official contest (+? coins)
  
• Forum Contribution (+? coins)

However... there are also ways to lose your hard earned DCs. These are called fines and will usually result from a crime against the forum such as making an ass of yourself or being a general nuisance.
I've listed here the most common fines.

• Advertising outside of the Ad forum (-50 coins)
  
• Posting a naughty picture or video without giving a warning (-30 coins)
  
• Making another account to get extra coins (-half of your main account's coin total and loss of the extra account)
  
• Necroposting (-10 coins)
  
• Oversize avi or sig (-5 coins)
  
• Excessive use of smilies (-5 coins)
  
• Maliciously flaming another member (-40 coins)
  
• Making another account while banned (-all coins of main account and permaban of new account)
  
• Spamming outside of the spam forum (-20 coins)
  
• Page stretching (-5 coins)
  
• Posting misleading links (-15 coins)
  
• Posting over 5 consecutive words in ALL CAPS!! (-10 coins)
  
• Plagiarizing something (-half of your coin total and week ban)

Like background or banners or icons or coding something to help the site along the way to it's rise to great lengths

that could be... if youre 'hired' by an admin to make buttons or other forum graphics then yes, youd be paid in coins

it works a bit more like the real world in that if you commit a crime or misdemeanor, you pay a fine. i thought it would be a good deterrent rather than the relatively empty threat of increasing a warn bar.
