Elite Four Open Tryouts
I'm not sure if this is where it should go so sorry head admin lady and dude.
There is now 8 Gyms, and with that 8 Gym Leaders but now we need the tougher league of the elite 4 so that nobody can become the champion of the forum.
First of all if you are not a gym leader and want to try out for this spot either talk to Blitz, or Lynzee, or anyone of the Mods which includes Soccer, 7, and Ace... that's me.
Rules are rules so it'll be a 6 on 6 battle, not all legendary pokemon are allowed so be careful not to have an uber on your team. Also that even though you battle they judge can decide if you're suitable for the job or not depending on technics.
Note: You can pick any battle style you want. Single, Double, Triple, Rotation, etc.
If you want to move up from a Gym Leader to Elite Four Member once again talk to any of the admins or mods. But if you do move up they'll be an open gym spot so therefore a gym spot would be open and available.
Types are limited so here is one of the positions you can fill out.
Note: Doesn't have to be pure type pokemon team but has to be Half.
Example: If you wanted to use like a Blaziken. 7 already has fire type but Blaziken is a dual Fire/Fighting type so you'll still be able to use it on a fighting team. However if a fighting gym or elite four member shows up than Blaziken would be unuseable unless you are challenging the gyms and the elite 4.
Bug- Open
Electric- Open
Fighting- Open
Flying- Open
Grass- Open
Ground- Open
Normal- Open
Psychic- Open
Rock- Open
Ice- Not a chance, Rachel has claimed this
Steel- Nuh Uh, Silver will crush you with the heavy Steel types
Fire- Don't even think about it, 7 will scorch you if you do
Water- You're crazy, Chris will drown you if you dare try
Dragon- Not happening, Monkey is the Legend with Dragon types
Poison- Hell No, Blitz is master of this deadly type
Ghost- No way, Violet is the Ghost Whisperer here
Dark- Nope, Lynzee is the leader in the shadows

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
I asked Espeon after I was first passed for the Gym could I try out for the Elite 4 slot. Tell me who to battle and what rules I must follow; ie: How Many Filler(s) Allowed, Who Do I Battle, Who Is Banned, ect.
Also I wouldn't say I'm a "Legend" with Dragons yet. Just wanted to see if I could get a Gym Slot with them in Gen. 4.

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
As Much as i like to shout arround to be an Elite 4.. if One, or god forbid it, 4 of us turn Elite 4 right now, arent we back to having 4 gym leaders? and how would we determine who is the strongest of us? a competition would hardly be fair seeing as, by example, my odds against the poison gym are countless times higher then against the Fire gym
i see you adressed the problem of open spots, but i just was curious what the solution to it would be, also, i noticed Rotation and Triple, wich reminds me of Black and White
Im not sure if im intiteled to say such thing, but wouldnt it be wise to make sure the Elite 4 have experiences with the new Gen? they are the elite after all..

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
Preferably they'd have their Gyms and E4 entries set up like my Gym, where the leader is prepared for any gen and any type of battle (mostly because I like being the easier Gym Leader). Since that's unrealistic and unconventional, I don't expect much.
I think if an E4 member takes a spot in the E4, a Gym spot becomes open. I'm not sure how it works because I'm completely out of the loop right now. Of course, you can't actually start an E4 challenge without first beating all eight Gym Leaders...

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
Yeah thats kind of where im banging my head to aswel, its nice we have enough Gym spots to start en E4, but that would mean that either 4 trainers that are stronger then the gym leaders get appointed, or we need 4 new gym leaders, its a complex area
the E4 should also be, aside powerfull, experienced and knowledgable, know the ins and outs of its types, the stats of his pokemon, etcetra, etcetra, imo, knowledge of the newest developments is part of that

you battle me or one of my forum staff, follow standard rules, up to 1 filler, you asked who to battle twice, all pokemon except legendary pokemon are allowed
Silver wrote:As Much as i like to shout arround to be an Elite 4.. if One, or god forbid it, 4 of us turn Elite 4 right now, arent we back to having 4 gym leaders? and how would we determine who is the strongest of us?
since we are still a small forum, gym leaders will be temporarily allowed to hold both a gym AND an e4 position so long as each have seperate types. you cant have your gym, be defeated, and then turn around and have that team be the e4. that would make no sense.
Silver wrote:the E4 should also be, aside powerfull, experienced and knowledgable, know the ins and outs of its types, the stats of his pokemon, etcetra, etcetra, imo, knowledge of the newest developments is part of that
this is why I would rather have 4 of the gym leaders be promoted to e4, eventually to be replaced by new people
Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
Well I talked ro Lindsay and I told her if I become Water e4 I'm also trying out for Rock Gym Leader so we could still have the same number of gym leaders.

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
So basically the people trying out are for an Elite 4 position is Monkey, Chris, Silver, and Me?
...... Wonderful! But another question that Blitz didn't clarify in an earlier post somewhere on the site, Is there going to be a specific order to battle the elite 4 members, or do we just battle any order as long as we defeat the 4 elite 4 members?
And also each Elite member will have a badge/symbol type thing where they give it out to the challenger who is victorious so that way we can keep track of which elite members you defeated and which ones you still need to battle. If for any reason you forfeit, quit, run away, dc, all your elite badges/symbols will be cleared and you'll have to fight all of them all over again.
So make sure you either have a liable excuse for leaving or have time to actually challenge the league once you obtain all 8 gym badges.
Ex. If you're in a public place with wi-fi like McDonalds or a library and they close in the middle of a challenge than that might qualify for a rematch but it also may not since you should already know they closing times of that wi-fi hotspot, So for one Set up a time for a match to take place

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
@Silver and Chris, Well.... I'm trying to perfect a Stronger Normal Type Team, Or I might continue raising this new Electric Team I starting to build. So if you want to be both an Elite and a Gym Leader you'll most likely according to whom you've battled before might qualify for the first Elite Spot if not you'll probably have to prove how strong you are in a elite tryout... though the gym you'll probably have to try out again as well to make sure your team and you qualify, we can't automatically give you the gym spot along with the elite spot because maybe a member might wanna try out for a gym spot and will have to challenge for leadership of one of the existing gyms.
Ex. You two already being gym leaders you might have duo pokemon will probably have very good line ups and strategies. Let's use Chris as an example, he's got a Water Team already and will have to make a rock team if he so desires, but I'll limit it on your previous type. So I can't allow Chris to have like an Omastar, Kabutops, Carracosta, Relicanth, and Corsola being the basics of both teams. Sure maybe like one of two of them to swap out but that would basically be fighting an elite and a gym leader at the same time but you would only get one badge, than you might have to fight the same team line up again to become champion.
So please refrain from using half or most or even a few of your original team to became your new team. Try to train some new pokemon.
Also if you wanna try out I would suggest making a team type you've never tried out before so you can have fun learning strengths and weakness's. Like how I have a Normal Type Team and a Flying Type Team on previous sites before and am Raising a new team from scratch to become either an Elite 4, Gym Leader, or even a Strategy League Specialist which I'm reminding everyone is still open for tryouts. So if you don't get lucky trying to become a E4 or trying to own a second gym I would suggest you might try out those different tactics and use them until you master them and become like a Battle Brain.
As well as the Staff is available if you want to try out (Though I said this multiple times) We'll also talk amongst ourselves to deliberate who will get spots or not. Even if you win the battle you might be declined due to the fact of how difficult your team is to defeat, how original you are in using moves and pokemon, and how fun the battle is. That basically is everything we used in deciding the Gym Leaders as well as other battle positions if there is any other place besides Gyms, Elite, and Strategy Leagues.
I'm pretty sure my rant got everything done, as well as a heads up to everyone. My Electric Team is Half Finished, so when it is I'll try out and if your also trying to start an Electric Team besides Silver, to try and complete it sooner than mine. If it is that the same type team is made twice and is positioned at the time as the other then we'll have a tie breaker though I seriously doubt this will happen.
Ex. Say that Silver and Me do comeplete our teams and Blitz test Silver and Espe test me and we just so happen to get the same type and spot... at the same time. This is where the tie breaker will most likely kick in. The two participants will battle with their Mono Same Type Teams to see who is the better ??? Specialist and the winner will most likely take that place.
Also if we really wanted to we can have a tournament to see who the stronger trainers are and give the winner or winners elite four positions though Types may mutilate others and only the less resistant types might win.
Ex. They will be randomized first of all but if 7 was trying out for a Fire E4 Spot and has to Challenge Chris who wants a Water E4 Spot that'll be a huge problem because it will basically be a sweep as well as if that is how we decide the spots.
Now I'm pretty sure my rant is over so Blitz, Espe, 7 and Soccer. You can change anything I said if it is inaccurate or stuff.

Re: Elite Four Open Tryouts
So we have:
Monkey - ? e4
Chris - water e4
Chris - rock gym
Silver - steel e4
Silver - electric/grass/fighting/psychic gym
Ace - Electric/Normal e4
Ace - Electric/Normal gym
id also like to throw my bug team into the mix, if needed. it probably wont be but there it is.
im available to try people out anytime after 7 pm my time (central). you must battle and impress me and at least one other leader with your knowledge and mastery of your type. the tryer outers will then meet and decide ranking based on what they saw in the battles. note that you do not necessarily have to win to become an e4. just go in there and have fun while showing off what your pokemon can do.

Alright though my electric team is only level 50-80 ish I'll be able to use it in a flat battle... but I would prefer no wonderlauncher whatsoever. If you need the list of pokemon on the team let me know, because I'm ready for a tryout at either gym leader or elite member

Bumped/Double Post
Since nobody wants to test me I tested myself against random people on random match up. Only 5th gen users can watch though i might record it to youtube later. Both are Triple Battles. Everyone with Fifth Gen can evaluate my performances.
Match 1: Pokemon Black: Triple Battle: 78-50402-41361
Match 2: Pokemon Black: Triple Battle: 85-99789-54287
And I'll post my gym victories later....

Bumped!
So far from what I've learned you need to have two staff members thumbs up of approval to become an elite member. From what I also know
Blitz tested Cress: Not sure
Espe tested Silver: She gave him a thumbs up
I'm going to test Silver
Espe is going to test me
My videos shall be viewed and reviewed maybe
Approvals
Cress (0 or 1) (Probably should go to 5th Gen but from what i know he's a 4th gen type of guy, needs to battle espe or me for approval)
Silver (1) (Now has to battle me in 5th Gen?)
Ace (0) (Videos and Espe shall be my tests in 5th Gen)
Monkey (0) (Also hasn't been online in a while)
Edit please my fellow staff members

Double Post!
Robin has proven his strength and is now the first Elite Four Member of the site so congratulations to him. As well as his gym and monkeys will be gone so they'll be gym leader tryouts again.
3 Spots Left for the Elite
2 Spots Open for Gyms (If monkey is still inactive)

Triple Post! Wow I'm surprised I haven't got scolded for doing this on numerous occasions but anyway...
I've transfered most of my normal types to Pokemon Black so I'd like to tryout for a Normal Elite Member Spot if possible.
Lol step aside Silver, A New Elite Member Has Arrived!
