Recording: My recent lecture wrote:[06:16:28] @ The Professor : The move sky attack can be learned through level up by certain species.
[06:16:45] @ The Professor : One in particular that I'm aware of is noctowl.
[06:17:49] @ The Professor : Several other species such as honchkrow learn it though breeding.
[06:18:45] @ The Professor : The move can be bred by having, say for example, a male noctowl that knows sky attack mate with a female honchkrow/murkrow.
[06:18:45] @ seaa-swix : tailow and swellow also. they are the one im more concerned with.
[06:19:05] @ 7 : RANDOM INTERFERENCE STATEMENT OF INTERFERENCE
[06:19:29] @ The Professor : Any children they have will be murkrow that are hatched knowing sky attack and the other default moves that all murkrow know.
[06:19:32] Chris : WOOT INTERFERENCE!!!!
[06:19:34] @ The Professor : The swellow I'm not as familiar with but breeding moves works the same for all pokemon.
[06:19:52] @ The Professor : *sighs* This is why I don't often do live lectures....
[06:20:19] Chris : lol sry *sits back down*
[06:20:34] @ seaa-swix : if you must, you can post your notes too.
[06:20:51] @ seaa-swix : seeing im the only one who misses sitting in a classroom.
[06:20:57] @ The Professor : Which I may do later. For reference's sake.

Never... Again...

But even so, as promised, I have collected my notes on the pair of moves asked about on this particular night. I didn't get the chance to exactly finish my lecture, as you can see from the recording...

A question was brought up about the move Sky Attack. Upon further questioning and working with the trainer, it was discovered to be less about the move itself and more about breeding for it.
I will explain both the move and the process of breeding for moves here in my notes.

Sky Attack is a powerful, 140 base damage, but not often used physical flying-type move. It has the misfortune of having a low number of uses (5 base PP, 8 max PP) and of being a 2-turn attack, meaning that one turn is spent building up energy (often described as the pokemon becoming 'cloaked in light') and the second turn to actually attack and inflict damage.
A few trainers have gotten around this by using a Power Herb. It's a special leaf that, when held by a pokemon, will allow the instant use of a charged attack. A list of these moves is Bounce, Dig, Dive, Fly, Razor Wind, Skull Bash, Solarbeam, and of course Sky Attack.

But that leaves the question of how the pokemon get this move in the first place. Well...

Sky Attack can be learned by several pokemon through leveling them up normally. Noctowl can learn it automatically when it levels up. The trainer will have to take it to someone that teaches moves, however. Others that can learn this move naturally are Altaria (lv 77), Togekiss (same as noctowl), Pidove (lv 50), Tranquill (lv 59), Unfezant (lv 66), Sigilyph (lv 51).
There is a method for breeding a move into certain pokemon, however. I will use Sky Attack in my example since it's already a topic in this report...
Pokemon, or more rather Birds that can learn this particular move through breeding are Fearow, Noctowl, Swellow, Honchkrow, their pre-evolutions, and Skarmory.

To breed a move, a trainer must have a male pokemon that knows the move they wish to breed and a female pokemon in the family they wish to breed the move into. The two must share an egg group which I can discuss later... For now, I'll simply say that they should both be birds.
The rest of the process is fairly simple. The male and female bird pokemon must be placed in a room together and left alone. It helps the process if the male is more... 'aggressive'. (Note that it doesn't actually matter in the game. The professor is just being evil.)
They will provide you with an egg that will hatch into the lowest form of the female's species, knowing the move its father knew. It will know it until its made to forget it by a trainer. Moves learned in this way cannot be retaught once forgotten.

It's learnable by level up in a number of grass type pokemon and through breeding for a number of others. If you want a list of species, ask for one. I'm not going to include one at this time.

Also if i may note. My Honchkrow knows the move Sky Attack and there is a way to make it work rather well. You see my Honchkrow holds the item Power Herb. What this item does is it actually removes the charge up turn for a 2-turn attack such as Sky Attack. This may also work for Bounce, Fly, Dive, Dig, Solarbeam, ect. There is a catch to it however, it is a one use item so once its used up, well its used. Though it can come very handy so i'd reccomened to use this item to power up Sky Attack, just be careful when you use it.

*clears throat* I would appreciate that you read my entire report before noting things that I've 'missed'.
